Toss Gujarat Titans chose to bowl vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill chose to bowl against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Ahmedabad, citing possible dew later on. Both teams were unchanged.
With RCB opener Phil Salt still recovering from injury, Jacob Bethell will continue to open with Virat Kohli. Seamer Rasikh Dar is the likeliest player to come in from the Impact Subs bench for RCB when they bowl later in the evening.
Prasidh Krishna or Ashok Sharma didn’t feature in GT’s bowl-first XI, with left-arm seamer Arshad Khan retaining his place in the team. Neither Prasidh nor Ashok was part of GT’s Impact Subs list. Rahul Tewatia is likely to step in as GT’s Impact Player when they chase.
The pitch had a covering of live grass, and Gill reckoned that it could aid swing in the powerplay. Patidar, though, felt that surface may not assist bowlers “too much”.
A win for RCB today will take them to the top of the points table with a third win a row.
