The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics continue to be the teams most frequently linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo, but their respective levels of interest may not be identical.
According to Chris Haynes, Miami’s pursuit of the Milwaukee Bucks superstar appears more established at this stage, while Boston’s intentions remain less clear.
“There isn’t anything official yet on Giannis as far as teams that are really in play and have had some momentum,” Haynes said.
“Boston doesn’t seem as promising of a destination as we thought. I think there’s interest, but there is not a clear sign as of right now that is their number one objective.”
Haynes noted that the Celtics have not removed themselves from the conversation and could still become more aggressive later in the offseason.
However, there is currently no indication that acquiring Antetokounmpo is Boston’s primary focus.
Meanwhile, Miami continues to be viewed as one of the strongest contenders should the Bucks ultimately decide to move their franchise player.
