Milwaukee Bucks guard Kam Jones feared his NBA career might be over after being arrested during a traffic stop last year, according to newly released body camera footage obtained by The California Post.
The incident took place on Oct. 10, 2025, after Indiana State Police alleged Jones was driving more than 100 mph and failed to immediately pull over.
Officers approached his vehicle with their weapons drawn before ordering him out of the car.
After being placed in handcuffs, Jones insisted he had not intentionally tried to evade police.
“I feel very confused right now,” the player said. “Honestly, I saw your right blinker on, so I’m like, ‘Is he trying to get by me?’ So, I was trying to get out your way.”
Jones said he had been speeding because he was late for practice and was surprised when officers told him he was going to jail.
“I’m going to jail?” Jones asked.
“Yeah,” an officer replied. “Reckless driving and resisting law enforcement.”
Later, while being escorted to a patrol car, Jones worried about the impact the arrest could have on his basketball career.
“I’m about to be nothing no more,” Jones said.
Jones was later charged with misdemeanor reckless driving, but the case was dismissed after he completed a pretrial diversion program.
He apologized following the incident, calling it a “mistake that I’ve learned from.”
The 38th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft went on to play in 37 games for the Pacers during his rookie season.
