The Indiana Fever let rookie Justine Pissott walk away on Tuesday when they did not match the offer sheet that the Las Vegas Aces offered her. Head coach Stephanie White said that they couldn’t open a roster spot for Pissott since it would mean waiving either rookie Grace VanSlooten or veteran center Damiris Dantas.
Pissott was the 25th overall pick of the 2026 WNBA Draft. She was on a player development contract with the Fever, but she was never able to play in a game for the team before the Aces signed her.

On Saturday, Pissott finally made her WNBA debut with the Aces against the Phoenix Mercury, and she impressed with her performance.

Pissott entered the game in the fourth quarter and quickly got to work. She was unstoppable from 3-point range, as she made five of her six attempts from deep and scored 19 points in 10 minutes of play.
The 22-year-old forward made history in the process, as her five triples were the most made by a player in a debut game.

Following her performance, many turned their attention to the Fever and criticized them for letting Pissott walk away. Several others pointed out that Indiana wasted her talent by not giving her the opportunity to play.
“Jeebus, Justine Pissott now has 19 points on 7-8 shooting and 5-6 3 PT in 9 minutes of play. The Fever let her go for free, and never played her….. This all points to how totally incompetent the Fever’s entire management organization and talent evaluation really is. I’m so done with them….” a frustrated commenter wrote.

“Indiana Fever looking life the dumbest front office ever for letting go Justine Pissott for nothing,” a critic said. Another one shared, “Letting Justine Pissott go is going to be the Fever’s biggest mistake this season.”
“The Fever really got rid of Justine Pissott,” a poster added in disbelief.
A social media user noted, “Justine Pissott is going off lmao the fever front office is so unserious.”
“Justine Pissott.. gone. 19 points in 5 minutes with her new team the Las Vegas Aces. Indiana Fever is the most pathetic [expletive] franchise in the entire WNBA and it’s not close! Free Caitlin Clark immediately,” an angry viewer exclaimed.

A seventh critic stated, “Justine Pissott just dropped 13 points in 5 minutes. Fever let her go for free but retained dantas. Caitlin pls leave this organization before you lose your fans and motion.”
It is interesting to note that the Fever and Aces will play each other on Sunday. Sure enough, plenty of eyes will be on Pissott and how she will perform against her former team.
