Indiana football is making moves in the high school recruiting class of 2027 and has a massive chance to make an impression on one of the top prospects at safety this weekend.
Davion Jones out of William Amos Hough High School in Cornelius, North Carolina, released his top-5 programs this week and the Hoosiers are still in on his recruitment alongside Auburn, LSU, Georgia and South Carolina. It’s either Indiana or one of five different SEC programs.

Jones is rated as a 4-star in the 247Sports Composite, ranking in as the 10th highest-rated safety and 153rd highest-rated prospect overall. He’s also rated as a 4-star by On3/Rivals, ranking in as the 11th highest-rated safety and 148th highest rated prospect overall.
Jones has official visits scheduled to all five of his finalists, with his visit to Bloomington being set for this weekend alongside 4-star edge rusher Myles Smith out of Michigan. It’s a huge opportunity for the Hoosiers to separate themselves in his recruitment.
