After announcing her commitment to Iowa women’s basketball on May 13, senior-to-be guard Bria Medina has officially signed with the Hawkeyes.
Medina, a 5-foot-6 guard from Tucson, Ariz., averaged 23.6 points per game in her junior season for Knox College (Ill.), which was the second-most in Division III women’s basketball.

She also recorded 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per game for the Prairie Fire this past season. Additionally, Medina was the first player in Knox College history to be named to the NCAA DIII Region 9 First Team and the Midwest Conference Player of the Year.
“We are so excited to add Bria to our program,” head coach Jan Jensen said about Medina. “Her energy and gratitude to be a part of our family is the coolest part about her. She had a great deal of scoring success at Knox College and has an immense amount of appreciation for our sport. Her mindset and work ethic is what set her apart for us as we went through the process.”

Medina now joins transfer guards Dani Carnegie, Jocelyn Faison, and Amari Whiting as members of the Hawkeyes transfer portal class for next season, who will compete for playing time alongside Chit-Chat Wright and Taylor Stremlow.
