When the Atlanta Dream take on the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday night, the Dream are hoping WNBA star forward Angel Reese will be back in action.
Reese ended up being ruled out with a right lower leg injury for the Dream’s last game against the Portland Fire, a contest Atlanta lost, 102-92.

The WNBA All-Star suffered the injury in the final minute of the previous game against the Seattle Storm, head coach Karl Smesko revealed, which led to a questionable status for Saturday before she was ultimately sidelined.

Reese was spotted with a walking boot on her right foot during the contest against Portland. That’s normally a bad sign, but she could just be wearing one as a precaution and it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s dealing with something overly serious.

Is Angel Reese playing tonight?
We still don’t have a definitive answer on Angel Reese’s status for the game against the Los Angeles Sparks.
According to the Dream’s official injury report, Reese is listed with a leg injury and is questionable to play. She is considered a game-time decision.
That means we may not know her status until right before tip-off. The Dream didn’t make a decision on Reese until a half hour before the tip-off of the Sparks game.

All that said, the fact that Reese is questionable and considered a game-time decision means she at least has a chance to suit up.

Angel Reese’s impact
A three-time WNBA All-Star, Reese is one of the best rebounders and interior scorers in the league and her absence would be a huge blow to Atlanta’s chances of beating Los Angeles.
Reese is averaging 15 points and 11.7 rebounds per contest. Her scoring output is a career-high, and she leads the WNBA in rebounds per game.

The good news for the Dream is that the Sparks are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league, so they may be able to overcome Reese’s potential absence on that front.

Even still, she will be sorely missed on the boards and on offense if she doesn’t suit up.
