A talented Notre Dame women’s basketball player’s career has come to a close, but soon her skills will be displayed at the highest level.
Notre Dame guard Cassandre Prosper announced on Monday her intentions to declare for the 2026 WNBA draft. The dynamic senior standout leaves South Bend with a decorated career that helped bring the Fighting Irish back to the national stage after making a deep NCAA Tournament run.

Prosper, a native of Montreal, was a powerful inside presence and her versatility on both sides of the court was an asset for head coach Niele Ivey. In just over 33 minutes of play, Cassandre averaged 13.6 points per game along with 6.5 rebounds in 2025-2026. In her final season at Notre Dame, she had career highs in points, rebounds, assists, and field goal percentage.
Led by Hannah Hidalgo, the Irish finished the season 25-11 overall and 12-6 in ACC play. The team had momentum throughout the tournament including an upset over Ohio State. Eventually they lost to the then-undefeated UConn Huskies in the Elite Eight which ended up being the final game of Prosper’s career.
Prosper’s move to the WNBA is a great signal for the future of Notre Dame recruits. Notre Dame has one of the most talented recruiting classes in the country coming in next season and Cassandre’s tenure in South Bend is proof of concept that if you work hard at Notre Dame, you can get a great education and develop your skills on the basketball court to make it to the highest of levels in the basketball world.
