James Guy came past his Olympic champion relay partners Duncan Scott and Matt Richards down the final 50 to win the 200 free at the Scottish National and Open Swimming Championships in Edinburgh.
Scott led by 0.19 at halfway and was still 0.11 ahead of Richards at the final turn with Guy a further 0.06 behind. However, the six-time Olympic medallist produced a 26.97 final-50 surge to pick off his Great Britain teammates for a 1:47.15 victory. Richards followed in 1:47.64, 0.07 ahead of Scott (1:47.71) with Tom Dean – still on the road back to full fitness following a shoulder injury – fourth in 1:48.48.
The quartet have combined to win the last two Olympic 4×200 relay titles and will face each other at next month’s Commonwealth Games when they’ll represent their home nations before reuniting under the Great Britain flag at the European Championships in Paris in August.

Ollie Morgan enjoyed a clear win in the 100 back, touching in 53.56 ahead of Luke Greenbank (55.29) and Logan Vandermeulen (57.33).
Freya Colbert withdrew from the 200IM final to focus on the 400 free in which she had a clear win in 4:12.39.
