Joe Burrow draws strong reviews for an overlooked talent of his

Despite multiple injuries, Joe Burrow has established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Burrow has many attributes that make him an incredible quarterback, but one piece of his game that may not be talked about as much is his movement ability.

Quarterback expert Jordan Palmer recently hopped on the Rich Eisen Show and discussed the talent of Burrow and specifically his efforts as a mover in and around the pocket.

“What Joe’s done to help out o-line play is become a more efficient mover,” said Palmer. “It’s turned him into one of the most difficult guys to tackle behind the line of scrimmage despite not having tier one top-end athleticism.”

Palmer didn’t stop there and shared a specific story.

“I went up to the Super Bowl, and I was on the plane with…I’ll just say an All-Pro defensive player. And I asked him to ‘Rank this guy, rank this, rank this’, and this guy kind of said Joe (Burrow) in almost every category. And one of them was most difficult to tackle. So I think that’s what he’s done to control what he can control is continue to become an efficient mover. I think that he’s mastered controlling what you can control, which is why you don’t hear him venting about anything.”

There are plenty of clips that come to mind of Burrow supporting Palmer’s comments, and his ability to extend plays causes incredible strain on opposing defenses.

On the flip side, this is a piece of Burrow’s game that puts him in situations that can cause injury, so it will be interesting to see how much scrambling he does moving forward rather than throwing the ball away and playing for the next down.
