Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has received support from a cross-sport counterpart, with former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III giving his verdict on why she deserves to win the WNBA MVP award.

Clark is enjoying another strong WNBA season and once again led the way for Fever against the Chicago Sky on Sunday. The 24-year-old scored a game-high 37 points, along with 10 assists and three rebounds, as Indiana secured a 113-90 win.

Following the victory, the Fever moved to fifth in the standings with a 25-14 record.

With the WNBA playoffs approaching, the race for the MVP award is also heating up, with fans and analysts sharing their picks for the honour.

One of them is Griffin, who took to X to name his choices for WNBA Rookie of the Year, best scorer, best player and MVP. He backed Clark for the final award while explaining why he believes she deserves it.

He wrote: “The WNBA has never seen anything like Caitlin Clark.
