Kentucky adds another two games to this year’s schedule

by

The Kentucky Wildcats basketball teams will have a pretty difficult 2026-27 schedule, despite Dick Vitale saying they need more big games. They already play several power conference opponents to go along with what will be a tough conference slate. The non-conference schedule still has a few openings, and they have now filled one of them, plus added an exhibition matchup with an old friend.

According to a report from Kentucky Sports Radio, the Wildcats will take on Appalachian State, the second all-time meeting between the two teams. The Mountaineers went 19-13 last season and failed to make the NCAA Tournament.

Kentucky has also added Little Rock to the exhibition schedule. The interesting part of this game is that it will bring Wildcats legend Travis Ford back to town, as he’s the head coach. He’s sure to get a warm reception from Big Blue Nation.

Dates for the two games haven’t yet been announced, though the exhibition vs Little Rock will obviously be in the days prior to the season opener. We’ll update the dates and times once that information is available.
