It has been a big week for Kentucky Wildcats basketball coach Mark Pope. After getting Malachi Moreno back, he added top transfer Milan Momcilovic to the 2026 squad. Then, he gained a commitment from top ten 2027 player Ryan Hampton.
Pope is looking to add more in the 2027 class, and on Sunday, point guard Jaxson Davis announced he had been offered by Kentucky. He becomes the fifth point guard in the 2027 class to be offered by Pope so far.

Davis is a 6’0″, 165 lb point guard out of Illinois who has played well on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaging over 14 points and 5 assists per game while shooting 38% from three-point range. He is currently rated four stars by 247Sports and ranks as their No. 42 overall player in the class and rising.
Kentucky joins Indiana, Illinois, Arizona State, and the Michigan Wolverines, among others, who have offered Davis at this point. That list is sure to grow if he continues to play well.
Heading into year three, Pope needed some recruiting wins. He got a big one with Hampton, and landing a player like Davis would certain be another one. We’ll continue to update his recruitment as it develops.
