Las Vegas Aces All-Star A’ja Wilson will not play on Friday, July 3, against the Chicago Sky (10 p.m. ET, ION) because of a leg injury.
Wilson’s right ankle was injured during the fourth quarter against the Chicago Sky on June 28. She fell to the floor after securing a loose ball and grabbed her right ankle.

Wilson get up and went to the locker room before returning. The Aces center, who played 34 minutes, finished the matchup with 30 points on 57% shooting, 15 rebounds, four steals and three blocks.Aces coach Becky Hammon isn’t worried Wilson’s injury is long-term. According to Hammon, the leg injury is a “tweak,” and she suggested that it might have been aggravated by traveling.
Wilson, 29, has missed 15 games in her WNBA career including the Commissioner’s Cup on June 30 against the New York Liberty.Wilson is having another MVP season, averaging 25.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.0 blocks. She leads the WNBA in points per game and blocks per game. Wilson is also fourth in blocks per match and is tenth in steals per game.
