The New York Liberty secured back-to-back victories when they beat the Seattle Storm on Monday. This win, however, may have taken a backseat to the high-profile guest who sat courtside at Barclays Center.
During the game, the WNBA tweeted a clip of former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton waving to fans from her seat.
Seeing Clinton in attendance, some shared their feelings on social media.

Clinton, who was the first female U.S. senator from New York, is not the first political figure to take an interest in the WNBA this season.
In early July, a group of 11 House Republicans asked WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to address “repeated attacks” against Caitlin Clark. A few weeks later, during the WNBA’s All-Star Weekend in Chicago, former U.S. president Barack Obama advised her not to let “all this nonsense” dampen her joy for basketball.

The trio of Liberty stars was all smiles as they took pictures with Clinton. Furthermore, they were in a cheerful mood as well after the game.
In the Liberty’s 95-83 win over the Storm, Stewart led the way with 24 points on 50.0% shooting from the field. Jones had 20 points and seven rebounds, while Ionescu shot 4-for-6 from deep as she finished with 18 points.
