Vanderbilt football has offered a scholarship to the son of an SEC enemy.
The proof of that was publicized when quarterback Knox Kiffin, son of new LSU coach Lane Kiffin, posted on social media June 15 he was offered a scholarship by the Commodores.
Knox, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound Class of 2028 prospect at University Lab School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, thanked coach Mark Lea and the staff.

“After a great camp and conversation I’m blessed to receive an offer from Vanderbilt,” Knox wrote on X.
He tagged Lea, offensive coordinator Tim Beck, director of player personnel and recruitment Kendall Lawson and quarterbacks coach Trenton Kirklin in the tweet.
Vanderbilt set a program record for wins last season with Heisman Trophy runner-up Diego Pavia under center. His likely replacement will be the No. 1-ranked high school quarterback in the country, Jared Curtis of Nashville Christian, whom the Commodores flipped from Georgia.
Kiffin, a former coach at Tennessee and Ole Miss, is preparing to enter his first season at LSU, taking over for Brian Kelly. Kelly was fired not long after Vanderbilt defeated LSU last season.
