Meet the Mets
As they’ve done many times this season, the Mets’ offense didn’t show up for McLean last night, resulting in the team going into extra innings in the first game of the series against the Diamondbacks. But while we’ve seen the Amazins subsequently flame out in extras numerous times this season, last night they actually came through, scoring two runs in the tenth thanks to RBI doubles by Mark Vientos and Carson Benge to give the squad a 3-1 victory. They’ve now won five of their last seven games since the calendar shifted to May.
