Michigan State football fans got some huge news on Saturday morning, as they successfully landed a commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Caleb Johnson. This is a massive win for the Spartans, who were able to steal Johnson away from Big Ten rivals like Iowa, Indiana and Illinois.
Johnson immediately becomes MSU’s highest-rated commit for the 2027 recruiting class, and could spark an avalanche for the Spartans in the 2027 class. Johnson is the No. 11-ranked interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class and the No. 245-ranked player overall by the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 3-ranked player in the state of Indiana, which makes it quite a feat that the Spartans were able to steal him away from the Hoosiers.

This is easily one of the biggest wins of the Pat Fitzgerald era and shows that MSU can still recruit at a high level.
