NBA Draft: Hawks tap Zuby Ejiofor at 23

by

The Hawks have made their second pick of the night, and this time it’s a frontcourt player.

Zuby Ejiofor is a power forward from St. John’s University who is probably well-known to college basketball fans. After a season at Kansas, Ejiofor transfers to St. John’s, and by his senior year his production put him on the draft map.

Over the past two seasons, Ejiofor averaged 15.5 points and 7.7 rebounds a game. A 6-foot-8 bowling ball of a post player, he’s known for his athleticism, toughness, and rebounding. He has some shot-blocking prowess for an undersized center, and flashed more playmaking in his senior year as a quick decision-maker.
