David Adelman is expected to remain in place as head coach of the Denver Nuggets, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
“He will be back. His job is safe,” said Charania.
Denver wrapped up the season with a 54-28 record, earning the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference before being eliminated in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Charania also reported that the organization is preparing to secure Nikola Jokic with a long-term extension. Jokic is set to become eligible for a four-year deal worth $290 million.
“The expectation on both sides is that Jokic will be signing that when he’s eligible in July,” said Charania.
In addition, Denver is expected to make notable changes to its roster moving forward.
“There’s going to be real roster changes coming to Denver to identify how they can surround Nikola Jokic with the right pieces to get this team over the top,” said Charania.
