Oklahoma football coach Brent Venables has known his team’s schedule for the 2026 season for a few months now. On Wednesday, though, he learned something new.
Potential kickoff times for 11 of the Sooners’ 12 regular-season games were announced. Only the team’s opener – Saturday, Sept. 5, in Norman against Texas-El Paso remained to be determined. Sort of.

Technically, only three of the 11 have official start times. The remaining eight games looked like Venables’ depth chart some weeks: filled with lots of “or” mentions.
The locked-in games are Week 2 at Michigan at 11 a.m. CT, Week 3 against New Mexico at 6:30 p.m. CT, and Week 6 in Dallas against Texas at 2:30 p.m. CT. As for networks, most games will air on the ABC/ESPN family of networks, though the game against the Wolverines is on FOX. Specific networks for the others – SEC Network, ESPN2, ESPN, ABC, etc. – are often determined the week before.
