The Oklahoma Sooners recently lost a few commitments, but they’re set to bounce back after this week’s visits.
The Oklahoma Sooners are having their biggest recruiting weekend in a long time. There are 15 recruits on campus for the 2027 recruiting class. 10 are already committed. Five are now, and it had to be a successful visit weekend based on some recent reports.

According to Rivals National Recruiting Reporter Greg Smith, OU would land Malahn Green, a three-star wide receiver in the 2027 recruiting class. According to Smith, the prediction is 75% likely to happen.
Green, along with Linebacker Case Alexander, cornerbacks Trenton Blaylock and Jaiden Fields, and interior offensive lineman Jaxon Lawler, are the five uncommitted players on campus this weekend. So, it’s a pretty big weekend, to say the least. And it would appear that it worked in one way if this commitment comes to pass. And, this would be very needed, desperate, some would same.

Demare Dezeurn, a four-star wide receiver, parted ways with the team. He was one of the first 2027 commits. Parker Thune of SoonerScoop reported that the two sides basically grew apart. Last Saturday night, Tra’Von Hall decommitted and flipped to Ole Miss. He was a three-star in a class loaded with blue-chip players, so it won’t hurt their ranking too badly. However, he is a good football player. Green is making up for that, and if he commits, they would have two WRs in the class in Greydon Howell and Green.

Green is 5’10, 180 pounds. He’s fast and a gadgety type of player, which they haven’t had a ton of over the last few years. He’s very explosive and has home-run potential. His shorter, smaller frame is something OU doesn’t usually go after, but they must see something special in Green. They have to, because he wasn’t ranked until recently.

In fact, 247 Sports is the only site that ranks him, whereas ESPN and Rivals don’t have a ranking for him. 247 has him as the No. 163 wide receiver in the class and the No. 16 player in the state of Missouri, since he’s from St. Louis. The Sooners were ahead of this one.
