Orioles’ Zach Eflin undergoes Tommy John surgery

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Zach Eflin had season-ending Tommy John surgery Wednesday, the team announced.

Eflin had received a second opinion on his right elbow from Dr. Keith Meister, who performed the procedure.

Eflin, who turned 32 on Wednesday, was pulled after 3⅔ innings in his first start against the Texas Rangers on March 31 due to right elbow discomfort. The team had transferred him to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Eflin landed on IL three times in 2025 because of lat and back ailments and finished 6-5 with a 5.93 ERA in 14 starts. He re-signed with the team for $10 million in the offseason.
