MIAMI, Fla. – Ahead of the 2026-27 college basketball season, here is what the Miami Hurricanes’ depth chart looks like, according to MiamiRoundtable.
Villanova transfer Acaden Lewis is the clear frontrunner to run Jai Lucas’ offense. Last season, as a freshman, he averaged 12.2 points on 45.6 percent shooting, three rebounds, and led the Wildcats with 5.3 assists in 33 games (all starts). Lewis is the Hurricanes’ only true playmaker, but as with Tre Donaldson last season, Lucas will challenge others to step up to the role.

Saint Peter’s transfer Brent Bland is the projected backup facilitator. He averaged 13.9 points on 38.8 percent shooting and 1.5 assists in 29 games (all starts). Bland was the Peacock’s top-scoring option, but getting others involved will be an area of growth for him. He can handle the ball, and his speed can break defenses, opening the floor for others.
Last season, as a freshman, Dante Allen began his collegiate career as Donaldson’s backup. In the last 16 games, including the ACC and NCAA Tournament, the Miami native was the Hurricanes’ starting shooting guard and thrived in that role. He averaged 6.7 points on 47.7 percent shooting, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 26.4 minutes. Allen is projected to remain at shooting guard, sharing the starting backcourt with Lewis.
Bucknell transfer Quin Berger is projected to fill the backup role at the two. He’s had an underwhelming collegiate career, but Lucas could help to turn things around. Berger suffered an ACL injury ahead of the 2024-25 season and missed all the college basketball action.

The Hurricanes have a rising star in Shelton Henderson, who’s coming off a productive freshman season. He averaged 13.8 points on 56.7 percent shooting, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 35 games (all starts). Henderson is listed at 6-6 and 240 pounds, with the speed and athleticism to get to the rim and challenge opponents.
Indiana transfer Nick Dorn is projected as the backup. Last season with the Hoosiers, he averaged 8.1 points on 40.4 percent shooting and 2.3 rebounds in 30 games (12 starts). Dorn can space the floor, shooting a career 36.3 percent from behind the arc. The senior is listed at 6-7 and 225 pounds.
Freshman and five-star recruit Caleb Gaskins is projected to start at power forward. He’s the second-highest-ranked recruit in program history since 2000, according to 247Sports. Gaskins, 6-8 and 219 pounds, graduated from Christopher Columbus High School. As a senior, he averaged 22.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 31 games.

Robert Morris transfer DeSean Goode is projected as the backup. He’s coming off a career season: 15.2 points on 62.9 percent shooting, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 33 games (32 starts). Goode was named the Horizon Player of the Year. Among all the frontcourt players, he can best space the floor.
Georgia transfer Somto Cyril is the frontrunner to start in the middle. He led the Southeastern Conference with a 2.2-block average with the Bulldogs last season. Cyril is a high-flying playmaker who revolves around the rim. Last season, he averaged 9.3 points on 75.9 percent shooting and 5.4 rebounds in 33 games (32 starts).
Although the Hurricanes have a plethora of options to back up Cyril, such as Robert Miller III and Christopher Birden Jr., Egor Rzyhov is projected to secure the job. The Russian native has a background in professional European basketball.
It’s worth reminding that Marcus Allen and L.J. Cason will not play the 2026-27 season, both recovering from ACL injuries.
