Approximately one year ago, Ben Askren was on his deathbed. Saturday, he’ll compete in a wrestling match against a former UFC champ.
At RAF 11, Askren faces former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad in a wrestling match. The event takes place at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee and streams on Fox Nation.

It’s been an improbable life comeback for Askren, never mind the competitive one. Some are questioning if it should even be allowed, given the dire condition Askren found himself in in June 2025, being resuscitated several times while battling a serious infection. But Askren has assured doctors have given him the OK.
On Friday, Askren and Muhammad faced off and kept their interactions cordial. The two were former training partners at Roufusport MMA under the late coach Duke Roufus.
