Raven Johnson has her own branding and she is ready to bring that through the Indiana Fever. The former South Carolina Gamecocks player was selected 10th overall by the Fever in this year’s draft, and the team knows what it will get from her.

Fever coach Stephanie White calls her a winner and previewed the impact the 23-year-old will have on her team.

“Raven is a point guard that primarily has had the ball in her hands. So I think it gives us some versatility,” White told reporters.

“Thankfully, having a couple of different guards gives us the ability to allow Kelsey [Mitchell] to rest a little bit, too.”

There are a number of familiar faces in Indiana for Johnson. First, there’s superstar Caitlin Clark, whom she battled when the Gamecocks faced the two-time WNBA All-Star’s Iowa Hawkeyes in March Madness. She will also reunite with former South Carolina teammate Aliyah Boston.

Johnson is not a heavy scorer like Clark and Boston, but she is confident in what she can bring to the table. She celebrated her WNBA milestone through an elegant photo shoot, calling herself a “baddie.”
