SEC Baseball Standings: Where LSU ranks after being swept again

by

We’re nearing the home stretch of the SEC baseball season, and the Georgia Bulldogs sit atop the SEC standings. At 13-5, Georgia is a half-game ahead of the Texas A&M Aggies at 12-5. Texas A&M and Texas are one game short due to Game 3 of their series being cancelled earlier this month.

Alone in third place is Texas at 11-6 after the Longhorns took two of three from Alabama over the weekend. Texas had a chance to secure the sweep on Sunday, but Bama took Game 3.

As for LSU, Jay Johnson’s Tigers are 6-12 and in 14th place. The only teams below LSU are South Carolina and Missouri. This is far from where LSU wanted to be at this point in the year, but after being swept by Ole Miss and Texas A&M, LSU is in must-win mode the rest of the way.

Back near the top, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Oklahoma, and Florida are all tied with 10-8 SEC marks. Mississippi State has won four in a row to recover after a midseason slump.

Here’s a complete look at this week’s SEC baseball standings.
