Simon Moritz delivers perfect performance for compound U21 world record

by

Germany’s Simon Moritz set a new compound men’s under-21 world record for the 15-arrow match on 16 May 2026 at a national competition in München-Garching.

The 17-year-old archer shot a perfect 150 points including 11 Xs, surpassing the previous world best of 150 10X set by USA’s David Houser in July 2014.

The new mark has now been officially ratified.

“It was a top day, the qualifying had already been great,” said Moritz. “There was hardly any pressure, so I could just focus on shooting cleanly.”

Moritz won the under-18 world title at the Winnipeg 2025 World Archery Youth Championships and made his senior international debut at the European Grand Prix Spring Arrows in April 2026, where he lost in the second round.
