After doubling their road win total in Los Angeles to kick off a five-game trek, the Seattle Storm look for back-to-back wins for the third time all season as they visit the Atlanta Dream tonight.

Atlanta is having its own problems, dropping five in a row, which included one to this very same Storm side. The books seemingly aren’t concerned, setting Atlanta as a 10.5-point favorite.

My Storm vs. Dream predictions and WNBA picks think that’s an awful lot of points for a struggling team to be giving, so Seattle should be able to cover on Thursday, July 9.

Storm vs Dream prediction

Storm vs Dream best bet: Storm +10.5 (-110)

The Atlanta Dream have hit a rough patch offensively, averaging just 78 points during their five-game skid while shooting a league-worst 38.4% from the field and 26% from beyond the arc.

Those struggles were exposed in a 105-90 loss to Seattle, where Atlanta allowed 60% shooting, including 14 of 23 from three.

The Seattle Storm have had Atlanta’s number, winning three of the last four meetings while covering all three as underdogs.

If the Dream’s offense stays this stagnant, Seattle should remain within striking distance. I’d back the Storm at +7.5 or better.

COVERS INTEL:

Flau’jae Johnson has scored at least 23 points in three of Seattle’s last five outings. The Storm won those three games but lost the ones where the rookie guard managed just one and 11 points, respectively.

Storm vs Dream same-game parlay

Angel Reese is the current rebound leader in the WNBA, pulling down 11.8 boards per game. The third-year pro has picked up at least 12 boards in four of the last five Dream games, but her one Under during that stretch was against the Storm.

Reese has only grabbed 12+ boards in two of six career meetings against the Storm, and she’ll be facing a Seattle side currently ranked Top 3 in rebounds allowed per game.

I am expecting a bounce-back effort from Seattle center Dominique Malonga, who was held to a season-low two points on a rough 1-for-10 day last time out against the Sparks.

Prior to that outing, she had scored at least 16 points in five of her previous seven games.
