Duke set to face KU in exhibition game
The countdown to the 2026-27 college basketball season rolls on as we are set to flip the calendar over to August. For the Duke Blue Devils, the excitement is high as they are hoping to bounce back from a disappointing loss to UConn.

While Duke has lost some talent with Cameron Boozer, Isaiah Evans and Maliq Brown all to the NBA, Jon Scheyer has done a good job with the roster. Duke welcomes back some talented players like Cayden Boozer, Dame Sarr, Caleb Foster and Patrick Ngongba II. Plus, they have the top recruiting class and a good transfer portal class.
Duke will also be tested throughout the season as they have a pretty tough non-conference schedule. But now we also know that they will have a tough preseason schedule as well.
On Wednesday, Duke released their exhibition schedule for the upcoming preseason, which features three games. They will take on Belmont and then Tennessee at home before closing it out on the road in Allen Fieldhouse against Kansas.
That’s a LOADED exhibition schedule.

The first game against Belmont will take place on October 8th followed by Tennessee on October 20th and then Kansas on October 25th. Being able to play against a team like the Volunteers at home and then on the road against the Jayhawks will be good for Scheyer’s team.
Exhibition games in the preseason have now taken the place of “secret scrimmages”, which now offer fans the chance to attend games between top programs.
Kansas and Duke have set the matchup titled “Blue Blood Classic” for October, the same weekend as homecoming for the football team. As part of the agreement, Kansas will make a return trip to play Duke in Cameron Indoor Stadium in October of 2027.
The two teams haven’t faced off in Allen Fieldhouse or Cameron Indoor Stadium since the 80’s. Duke is 9-7 all-time against Kansas but is just 3-5 against them in the Bill Self era.
The two teams have played in non-conference games before with the Champions’ Classic but allowing these games to be on campus is an even bigger bonus.
