The sun will always shine after the storm. The Connecticut Sun finally entered the win column after escaping the Seattle Storm, 80-78, at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday.

Kennedy Burke won the game for the Sun after connecting on an and-1 play with 2.8 seconds left. After Natisha Hiedeman missed on a jumper, Aaliyah Edwards grabbed the rebound and tossed the ball to Charlisse Leger-Walker, who found Burke streaking to the rim.
Burke made the layup and was fouled by Lexie Brown. Burke sank the free throw.
Seattle still had a chance to steal the win, but Hiedeman missed the three-pointer.
The Sun, the final winless team before the contest, as noted by ESPN’s Alexa Philippou, ended their five-game losing streak.
“It was a wild night at Climate Pledge, featuring 62 bench points from the Sun and 49 for Seattle,” added Philippou.

Burke finished with 15 points, including three three-pointers, and six rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench. Leger-Walker paced Connecticut with 16 points. She added two rebounds and three assists. She also came off the bench.
Hiedeman led Seattle with 20 points and five rebounds. They suffered their third straight defeat and fell to 1-4.
The Sun held the Storm to only 44% shooting. They scored 20 points off Seattle’s 17 turnovers. Connecticut imposed its will in the interior, tallying 50 points in the paint.
The Sun are in their final season, as the franchise will relocate to Texas next year, resurrecting the Houston Comets, following the sale to business mogul Tilman Fertitta. He also owns the Houston Rockets.

The Sun and the Storm will have a rematch on Friday.
