Given that the WNBA season is still getting underway, teams around the association are constantly making moves to improve their chances of winning games and ultimately making the postseason. The Connecticut Sun are no different, as they continue to look for their first win of the season, dropping their opening three matches of the season, with their most recent being a 29-point blowout to the Las Vegas Aces.
It appears that they’re making a roster move, according to the WNBA’s transaction tracker, as the Sun have waived Shey Peddy on Thursday morning. The move comes after Peddy put pen to paper on a training camp contract with Connecticut in April, but would fail to make an appearance in any of the team’s preseason games as well as their opening slate this season.

The former Temple Owl spent time with the aforementioned Aces and the Indiana Fever last season, averaging 5.1 points and three rebounds per game.
Sun take chance to activate first round pick
While the move sends Peddy to look for opportunities elsewhere, it was done as the Sun has activated Nell Angloma, who was selected with the 12th pick in the 2026 WNBA draft earlier on in the year. Angloma was out for the opening set of matches due to overseas obligations. During her time with Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomération in Ligue Féminine de Basketball, Angloma averaged 15.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
The Sun’s next match will come on Friday night, when they’re set to play their second match against the Aces, with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m. EST.
