Tyrone Johnson has reiterated his stance on Caitlin Clark once again after the first round of the WNBA All-Star voting came in. The league announced the first returns of the All-Star voting on Thursday, June 18, and the results were shocking for many fans. Johnson discussed the rankings as per fans on his show.
A few days ago, Johnson criticized Clark openly for her tendency to get into altercations with officials during games. He argued that she was the most “unlikable” player in the entire basketball world and compared her with the likes of LeBron James and Victor Wembanyama. He downplayed her popularity in the league, and the latest round of voting has just backed his argument even further.

Featuring on The Craig Carton Show, the analyst doubled down on his take and said:
“This is a straight-up popularity contest amongst the fans of the sport… So the fan voting came in from the fans who watched the games. Remember, I said it was over for her, and ‘Oh, she’s the league. She is this and that. Cur your tongue out.’ This is what stupid people said. Look at this, No. 1 is A’ja Wilson, No. 2 is Paige Bueckers, my favorite player in the WNBA, No. 3 Aliyah Boston, wait a minute. You mean, she’s not the most popular player with the fans on her own team? Your golden child is fifth among the fans.
When I speak, I speak what I know, not what I think. The bottom line is this, the act is getting tired.”
Caitlin Clark led the All-Star voting in 2024 as a rookie and last season as well, when she was the captain of Team Clark. This year’s voting thus far presents a stark contrast to that.
Clark is one of the most popular players in the WNBA, and her arrival has benefited the entire league through newfound attention from fans, resulting in a new CBA deal. However, the first round of voting is not consistent with that. Nevertheless, Clark fans might now step up to bring their star up on that list.
Caitlin Clark gets mocked by Angel Reese in the Atlanta Dream’s 108-101 win
Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese met for the second time this season, and Reese’s Atlanta Dream has tied the season series against the Indiana Fever, winning the game 108-101. Even though Clark led the team with 26 points, tying Kelsey Mitchell’s 26, Reese took Clark and Co.’s fifth consecutive win away, leading the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

During the game, at one point in the second quarter, when the Dream led 31-29, Clark was given a foul after she hit Reese on the screen. After the play, the Dream center was seen seemingly mocking Clark for flopping the foul.
Clark came to the game, debuting her Nike Caitlin 1s on the WNBA floor, and looking for a fifth back-to-back win of the season. Instead, the Dream grabbed their second consecutive win. However, the Fever will have one more opportunity to take the lead, as the two teams meet again in the next game.
