The second in a wave of acquisitions this August, the Toronto Raptors have signed former guard for the Milwaukee Bucks, Andre Jackson Jr. Jackson was a part of the University of Connecticut Huskies Men’s Basketball Team who won the tournament in 2023.
Having played his whole career in Cream City as a shooting guard, the former Husky will be competing for a place on the team, bringing some solid three point shooting and high flying dunks to the team. Jackson shot over 38% from three in his first two years, but after a junior slump in his last season, he’ll be looking to return to form in Toronto.

It’s always nice to have someone who can generate highlight plays, even if they’re doing so in only a few minutes. Players like one-time 905er Quincy Guerrier was someone I always enjoyed watching, and if Jackson hammers down some dunks and knocks down the open jumpers, then he’ll be doing his job. The guard has experience starting in Milwaukee, but will likely play a role in bench lineups. I can envisage him catching lobs from Jamal Shead or taking corner threes off Scottie Barnes dimes, and can see the type of role he might have for the team.
