Tim Hardaway Sr. shared strong opinions about LeBron James during a recent discussion, questioning both James’ killer instinct and his placement among the greatest players in NBA history.
While Hardaway made it clear that he respects LeBron’s accomplishments, he suggested that James does not consistently display the same aggressive mentality that defined several all-time legends.
“Magic, Michael, Kareem, Kobe had killer instincts. … I love LeBron, but at times he doesn’t bring it the way we want him to bring it, like James Harden,” the former Heat star said.
Hardaway’s comparison to James Harden centered around his belief that LeBron can occasionally be less assertive than fans expect in key moments, especially compared to players known for relentlessly taking over games.
The former NBA All-Star also stated that he does not consider James a top-five player in league history.
Instead, Hardaway listed several legendary names ahead of him, including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
“MJ, Kobe, Magic, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, then you go from there,” Hardaway said. “You got Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O’Neal.”
