Remember when Tyler Reddick was the hottest driver in NASCAR? He won three straight races to start the season and two more later in the year?
Well, Reddick’s tough luck returned on Aug. 9 in the Iowa Corn 350.

Reddick crashed his No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota on Lap 4 of the NASCAR Iowa race when he went up the track and slammed into Erik Jones. Reddick got loose when his Toyota hit the bumps on Turn 1 and collected Jones.
Reddick sustained heavy damage.
Reddick entered the NASCAR Iowa race second in points, 84 behind Cup Series leader Denny Hamlin.
Both Reddick and Jones have been ruled out for the race.

While the DNF won’t affect Reddick’s chances of making the Chase, this is a huge hit to Jones’ hopes of making the NASCAR playoffs. Jones entered the week 18th in points, 412 behind Hamlin. The top 16 drivers reach the playoffs.
