It’s official visit weekend for Virginia Tech. Things kicked off in a big way on Saturday when in-state tight end Sam Faniel (Richmond) announced his commitment to the Hokies.
Head coach James Franklin wasn’t done. On Saturday night, the Hokies struck again, this time landing a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Luke Braham.

This commitment may have come as a surprise, as we haven’t heard of Braham being on Tech’s radar for long. However, that’s not true. Offensive line coach Matt Moore knows Braham well. He got to know him during his time as West Virginia’s offensive line coach before arriving in Blacksburg last season. Braham plays high school football at University High in Morgantown, West Virginia.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Braham chose the Hokies over West Virginia, Rutgers, and others. So, how did Virginia Tech land an offensive lineman from Morgantown — home of the Mountaineers? It’s simple: Moore. The relationship between the two goes back a few years, and once the Hokies officially offered in May, the decision became easier for Braham.
Braham plays offensive tackle in high school. It’s uncertain if he’ll remain a tackle once he arrives in Blacksburg, but he does have the required length. His high-school film shows a dominant run blocker.

Braham is commitment No. 17 to Virginia Tech’s 2027 recruiting class. He is the second offensive lineman, joining four-star Kaden Buchanan (Lebanon, Tennessee), who committed last week.
Welcome home, Luke.
