Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese cannot stop wreaking havoc on court, as she continued her stellar form with an impressive 18-point performance to help her side emerge victorious over the Indiana Fever last Thursday night.
Ever since joining the Atlanta-based franchise earlier this April, the versatile scorer boasts a career-best average of 15.1 points in the 14 games played so far.

So why would the Chicago Sky possibly let go of their star player in the midst of her prime? Well, the answer lies with Chicago general manager Jeff Pagliocca, who in a press release earlier this year revealed how the trade was done to maintain the team’s overall makeup.
“This trade is designed to achieve roster balance and represents a great opportunity for all parties,” Jeff Pagliocca stated in April.
The roster balance that Pagliocca refers to in his statement is the 2027 and 2028 first-round picks that the side received post-Reese’s departure. Conversely, Atlanta will have swap rights on their 2028 second-round pick with Chicago.
While it may look like the current scales are tilted in Atlanta’s favor, only time will tell if Chicago’s punt pays off in the seasons to come.

While the Thursday night win over Indiana ensured that Atlanta maintained the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings, the game also saw the Fever’s star forward clinch another personal milestone.
Adding to her 18-point performance, Reese also garnered a total of 8 rebounds, which made her the fastest WNBA player to record 1000 career rebounds.
What made this landmark feat even more impressive is the fact that it only took Reese 74 games to enter the record books, beating Tina Charles’ previous record by a margin of 15 games.
Reese will next feature for her side’s Monday night encounter against the Toronto Tempo.
