Mario Hezonja said Real Madrid Baloncesto is entering the EuroLeague Final Four determined to compete for another title.
“I think it’s the most important basketball tournament in the world,” Hezonja said while describing the pressure and intensity of the Final Four.
The Croatian forward stressed that Real Madrid must avoid focusing on outside expectations.
“We have to go there to win, but forget about the pressure, because pressure never brings anything good,” Hezonja said.
He also emphasized the importance of staying focused throughout the event because of the distractions surrounding the Final Four atmosphere.
Hezonja later addressed injuries to Walter Tavares and Alex Len, saying the entire roster must contribute more.
“Everyone has to step up,” the player said.
The Real Madrid star also praised Valencia Basket and head coach Pedro Martínez ahead of the semifinal matchup.
“Valencia plays at a high level all year round,” Hezonja said. “Their attacking level is very high.”
