Slovak compound archers Jozef Bosansky and Petra Kocutova broke the 50+ mixed team qualification world record on Tuesday at the 2026 European Outdoor Championships in Antalya, Türkiye, with a combined score of 1353 points.
The mark, which has now been officially ratified, surpasses the previous record of 1342 set by Korea’s Choi Na Mi and Jang Ho Sik at the Pilsen 2023 World Archery Para Championships.
“I wouldn’t have believed it would happen again… with Petra, we broke the world record in the 50+ category!” Bosansky wrote in a social media post following the achievement.
Bosansky, who turned 50 just one week earlier, won compound men’s gold at the Krakow-Malopolska 2023 European Games, while Kocutova has enjoyed multiple strong results at 50+ level, including victory at the Nimes indoor tournament in 2023.
Bosansky also broke two additional world records in the category last week, just two days after his 50th birthday.
He set a new 50-metre round world record with 710, alongside another record for the double round with 1416.
Both marks – now also officially ratified – were achieved at a national competition in Slovakia.
