Georgia football picked up a three-star defensive lineman on Wednesday evening in Waylon Wooten.
Wooten, a rising senior at Grayson High School, hails from Loganville, Ga. He stands at 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds.

Wooten has played for the Rams for two seasons, collecting 61 tackles (26 solo and 35 assisted) in that time for a loss of 15 yards. He’s also recorded 4 sacks, 17 quarterback hurries, and 1 deflected pass, according to his MaxPreps profile.
The defensive tackle was part of the Rams’ 2024 state title win against Carrollton, Grayson’s fourth state title overall.
Wooten chose Georgia over Florida, Ohio State and Purdue. He also offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Missouri, NC State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Texas A&M, USC and Vanderbilt, as well as a plethora offers from other Division I and Division II institutions.
Wooten is the first defensive lineman pick up, eighth commitment overall, for Georgia’s class of 2027.

Georgia opens the 2026 season at home on September 5 against Tennessee State. Kickoff is still to be determined.
