Azzi Fudd is right on track after a shaky start to her WNBA season. The number on draft pick has well and truly announced herself on the biggest stage. Her rookie season started slow but is now going at double speed. There were questions asked of head coach Jose Fernandez about the starting spot for Fudd. He answered back by saying that Fudd has to earn that position.
She has already started to break WNBA records. In Dallas Wings’ game vs New York Liberty, Fudd came off the bench and played 32 minutes. She became the first rookie in franchise history to hit 6 three pointers. 17 points in the third quarter made her the rookie with most points in a single quarter in WNBA history.

At the back of breaking two records in one game, Azzi Fudd earned her first WNBA start and guess what, she broke another record.
Azzi Fudd is now the first drafted rookie and second overall rookie joining Pauline Astier to have multiple games with 20+ points this season.
In Dallas Wings’ grand comeback victory vs A’ja Wilson’s Aces, Azzi Fudd had 22 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 37 minutes. She hit 9-15 from field and 3-5 from three.
Jessica Shepard’s record breaking night inspires comeback win
Jessica Shepard outshined everyone on the court. A’ja Wilson, who is rarely the less dominant, really got beaten at her own game. Shepard outplayed A’ja Wilson and the Aces with an outstanding triple double. This was the third triple-double of her career and interesting second of this season itself.

She became the second player to have 20+ points, 20+ rebounds and 10+ assists in a single game. She scored 22 points, with 20 rebounds and 10 assists. Only player who had achieved that stat line was Alyssa Thomas when she had 21 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists vs Lynx in 2023. With Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd clicking and Shepard playing like that, Wings might just become a huge title contender.
