Middle Tennessee State men’s basketball has scheduled an away trip against one of college basketball’s elite programs during the 2026-27 season.
MTSU announced it will face Kansas and coach Bill Self at Allen Fieldhouse on Nov. 6 as part of its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season. It will be the first time the Blue Raiders have faced Kansas since November 2000, when the Jayhawks downed MTSU 92-66.

The time of the matchup has not been announced. The remainder of MTSU’s non-conference opponents, will be announced on a later date.

MTSU is 0-3 against Kansas all-time, with two of those losses coming at Allen Fieldhouse.
Last season MTSU went 17-15, falling in the Conference USA Tournament to Louisiana Tech. Two of the Blue Raiders’ regular-season losses came against national powers in Houston and eventual national champion Michigan.

Kansas was 24-11 last season and entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 4 seed, reaching the Round of 32 where it fell 67-65 to St. John’s.
