Miles is going through the rookie season of her WNBA career. The Lynx selected her second overall in this year’s draft, liking the potential and ceiling she has as a rising star guard.
Miles has been productive to start the season but saw her 3-point shot be off for a while. She needed a big performance to bring her solid accuracy back, which she pulled off against Golden State.
In 28 minutes of action, Miles torched the nets from deep. She finished with a stat line of 28 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and three blocks. She shot 9-of-16 from the field, including 8-of-11 from beyond the arc. Her efforts set her apart in WNBA history as a rookie, per reporter Alexa Philippou.
“Olivia Miles was 2 for 18 on 3s entering today. She has made 8 of 11 attempts so far tonight against the Valkyries. That’s the most 3s made by a rookie in a single game in league history,” Philippou wrote.
