Alessandro Costa showed off his handiwork once again Saturday at UFC Fight Night 278.
In the featured prelim at Meta APEX in Las Vegas, Costa (16-5 MMA, 4-3 UFC) made quick work of seasoned veteran Matt Schnell (17-11 MMA, 7-9 UFC), stopping the fight with punches at the 2:32 mark of Round 1.

Costa rocked Schell badly with a punch, putting him on roller skates. Schnell dove for a leg and grabbed it, but Costa continued to pummel away. Referee Herb Dean intervened as Schnell was flat on the ground. Once he intercepted Costa’s attack, Schnell rose up and tackled Costa to the canvas – causing some confusion. But the fight was already waved off, as Dean explained to him immediately thereafter.
Costa, 30, has won back-to-back fights and three of his most recent four.
Schnell, 36, has lost back-to-back fights and five of his most recent six.
