A priority recruiting target with family ties to Michigan State has committed elsewhere.
Gideon Gash of Novi, Mich. has committed to Texas Tech of the Big 12. Gash announced his commitment to the Red Raiders following his official visit with the program this weekend.

Gash is listed as a high-end four-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 97.01 in 247Sports’ composite ratings. He ranks as the No. 5 athlete and No. 2 player from Michigan in the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 70 overall prospect in the class.
Michigan State had Gash on campus for an official visit last weekend. He also has direct family ties to the program with his two older brothers playing for the Spartans. So that had some — including myself — believing he would end up in the green-and-white when it was all said and done.
Losing the recruiting battle for Gash is a tough blow for the Spartans. He has clear family ties to the Spartans that should have given Michigan State the edge in his recruitment. However, it appears that wasn’t enough and he’ll be leaving the Mitten State for Texas Tech to continue his football career.
