Nebraska women’s basketball hires Brad Fischer as assistant coach

Nebraska women’s basketball announced the hiring of assistant coach Brad Fischer to the program on Monday evening. The program made the announcement official in a press release.

Fischer joins Amy Williams’ staff as an accomplished coach. He had tremendous success at the Division III level wit 14 seasons at U-W Oshkosh. In that time, he took the Titans to 11 NCAA Division III tournaments, including Final Four appearances in 2025 and 2026.

He also received national accolades. He was named the NCAA D-III Central Region Coach of the Year by D3hoops.com in 2014, 2021, and 2025. Fischer was also named the WBCA Region Coach of the Year in 2019 and won the WIAC Coach of the Year award six times, most recently this past season.

Fischer finished his career with the Titans, going 315-80. Now, he will join a Huskers program that has already built a solid foundation under Williams.
