Earlier today, the Big Ten announced the confirmed conference matchups for the 2026-2027 Big Ten women’s basketball season. As a result, we now know which teams Rutgers will play at home and which teams they will play on the road. That list is as follows:
Home: Illinois, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, UCLA, USC

Away: Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington, Oregon
Home & Away: Penn State
This is the third year in a row that Rutgers will see Penn State twice on the hardwood in women’s basketball.
Unlike men’s basketball next season, which will play 20 conference games, women’s basketball will only play 18. That is why men’s basketball has three home-and-home opponents, while women’s basketball has only one.
Last season, the Big Ten set itself apart as one of the best conferences for women’s basketball, with 12 of the 18 teams punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament. With that being said, the schedule is going to be tough sledding, whether it’s at home or away, for the Scarlet Knights, who finished Big Ten play last season with just one conference win. However, Rutgers is expected to make a significant jump forward this year from its last-place finish last season. With new head coach Gary Redus II in charge, and a fresh group of proven Power Four talent coming in the transfer portal, there is good reason to be excited about the progress this team can make next season and the overall future of the program.
