The Wisconsin Badgers have been rolling in the 2027 class, but in the recruiting world, teams always have to look ahead in the future.

This weekend, the Badgers host a huge pool of 2028 recruits for their annual Bucky’s BBQ, where some of their early targets in the cycle made their way to campus.

Who was on campus this weekend? Let’s give out the full list.

Offense

3-star QB Matthew Lee

4-star RB Ian Thomas

4-star RB Kevin Hartsfield

3-star WR Corderro Bennett

4-star TE Tre Oiler

4-star TE Jordan McKinley

4-star OL Jamarios Canton

Unranked OL Collin Burris

4-star OL Nick Anderson

Quite the group of offensive players, including a number of four-star recruits. Quarterback Matthew Lee is a legacy prospect, and has been a target for the Badgers for quite some time. The Badgers offered the Illinois native last summer.

Thomas and Hartsfield are two of the best recruits in the nation, regardless of position, making it a huge weekend for running backs coach Jayden Everett. Thomas is the No. 1 running back and No. 39 overall recruit in the 247Sports rankings, while Hartsfield is the No. 1 running back and the No. 41 overall recruit in the composite rankings.

At the skill positions, Wisconsin brings in Corderro Bennett, an Indiana native, while Tre Oiler is the composite No. 1 recruit in the state of Wisconsin for the Class of 2028. Meanwhile, fellow four-star tight end Jordan McKinley is a high school teammate of Matthew Lee.

On the offensive line, we’ve seen Eric Mateos go after some heavy hitters, and that’s exactly what’s happening this weekend with a pair of high four-stars coming to campus, as well as spring breakout Collin Burris.

Defense

Unranked DL Hunter Mosolino

3-star DL Hendrix Dawson

5-star EDGE Jalanie George

Unranked LB Anthony Busby

4-star LB Jameer Miles

4-star CB Logan Thompson

3-star S Kacey Allen

On defense, the top recruit heading to campus is Jalanie George, who hails from Desert Edge High School in Arizona, where Wisconsin is making quite the headway in recent years. In the 2027 class, they’ve landed both edge Yahzeen Zion and linebacker Nathan Jones from the Arizona high school. In the transfer portal this offseason, that’s where Jon Jon Kamara initially hailed from.

George is a top-10 recruit in the nation and the No. 2 edge, according to the 247Sports composite.

Hendrix Dawson is another top recruit in the state of Wisconsin, and one the Badgers have been targeting for some time. He and Illinois native Hunter Mosolino will be on campus at defensive line this weekend.

At linebacker, the Badgers are bringing in Miles, who is a top-50 recruit in the nation, and Busby, whom they offered back in January.

Then, in the secondary, Illinois native Logan Thompson, a top-45 recruit and top-5 cornerback, will head to campus. He’s really started to blow up this spring and summer, with the Badgers offering him at the end of April. In addition, another Arizona native, safety Kacey Allen, will head back to campus after an April offer from Wisconsin.

It’s quite the group for the Badgers, who will be looking to make some headway this weekend with the 2028 class.
