One college football writer just made a massive statement about how good Texas A&M’s wide receiving corps could be in 2026.
In a recent episode of ThatSECPodcast with Michael Bratton, also known as SEC Mike, Steve Lasson from Athlon Sports ranked each wideout unit in the SEC. Lasson placed Texas A&M’s group of electric talent at No. 2, just behind the Texas Longhorns, but with a massive caveat.

According to Lasson, the Aggies are very close to being the top unit in the conference, with the return of Mario Craver, Terry Bussey and Ashton Bethel-Roman, along with Mike Elko landing Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton in the offseason.
Per reports from multiple Texas A&M beat writers, Bussey and Bethel-Roman were shaken up during spring football training, but should be back to full-go by fall camp. With the most talented group of wide receivers to target in his collegiate career thus far, this should also allow junior quarterback Marcel Reed to take a massive jump in 2026.
The Aggies ranked fourth in the SEC in 2025 with 33.77 points per game, while ranking sixth with 259.85 passing yards per contest. Cleveland Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion and Craver both ranked top five in the conference in total receiving yards, combining for a whopping 1,836 yards and 13 touchdowns.

If Reed can continue developing his passing efficiency and pocket presence, Craver, Horton, Bussey and Bethel-Roman could compile massive numbers and solidify their case as one of the top units in college football in 2026.
